Electronic Medical Record: A New Medical Technology Walk Through
Electronic Medical Record
Technology has simplified electronic medical records every step of the way by streamlining the databases, even for multiple offices of the same practice, in a secure online data environment. Another reason why technology has made electronic medical record so user friendly, is that it now saves practices money, through simple installation and management.
A Tour of the Medical Process
Technology can be a scary thing sometimes, so it is important to research the positives and negatives of adopting new technologies, especially in the medical profession. Accurate and complete information in an EMR system are a type of "preventative medicine," which not only protects the patient but also the medical practice.
"Keep to the code" is not only a good line for a blockbuster pirate movie but also for medical practices. There are many codes to keep track of, and they are all necessary to keep around and refer to you. New medical office software includes easy access to icd9 codes, 2004 CPT codes, diagnosis code, and HCFA 1500 forms.
Medical office software also must be managed by a qualified medical billing specialist with a qualified HIPPA consultant available to assist in the processing of the electronic medical record. Medical office software puts practices in touch with qualified individuals to help process the electronic medical record.
In addition to working with codes and qualified consultants, medical billing software, medical claim software, and electronic claim processing combine their technology in order to manage all claims and billing, including Medicare billing. But, medical office software packages also remember to include access and management of every medical transcription job created on a transcription machine.
Electronic Medical Record Accessibility
In short, those who are not authorized have no access and those who are authorized have very simple and convenient access. Electronic medical records are secured and even backed up, allowing access codes and login information only to those who are authorized.
Those who are authorized not only have access at their office but also by medical billing PDA, which allows records and appointments to be managed on a PDA. Download medical palm is a convenient way to work with real-time information and to manage a medical practice, even when away from the office.
Technological Catch-22
The catch with technology will always be "fear not" on one hand, and "be careful" on the other. It is no different with new medical technology for medical practices. This article has provided terms and links to assist medical practices in getting started on learning new technology and making educated decisions on effective and affordable technology to adopt.

Disadvantages of Electronic Health Records System
Electronic health record system is definitely a better way to do store patient's medical health records. It allows for accurate record keeping, increased level of healthcare and a reduction in malpractice insurance premiums. It involves doing away with the pen and paper system of keeping medical records and embracing the digitalizing of all information. Like every new thing, change is not always welcome. A few physicians are stuck in their ways and are not embracing this new system without a fight.
The good news is that you can work around disadvantages to turn them into positive territory or find a replacement. Some of the disadvantages include:-
Privacy Protection
There will always been privacy issues in the healthcare system on who has access to your medical records. With a pen and paper system, with the physical file located at a particular institution there is a limit to who can see your records. Even if there was a security breach and your information is not secured, it is only available to people in that proximity.
But in a situation where your information is sent to a centralized information repository in digital format, all bets are off. This privacy concern is a big issue with many people and will continue to be an issue until it is addressed for good.
Medical records synchronization
Until recently with centralized information repositories, individuals being treated at different facilities could not have their information updated at the same time which could lead to healthcare providers not having updated information when they become available. However, with centralized repositories this problem has been solved, but it has given rise to the above mentioned issue of data security and protection.
High start up cost
There is a high start up cost when transforming a pen and paper system to EHR. Some physicians do not see any immediate benefit to their practice in the short run and drag their feet in implementing EHR.
Legal issues
Taking the healthcare industry to court has in the past few decades been a lucrative venture for attorneys trying to right the wrong done to a patient, whether by omission or commission.
Doctors are already practicing defensive medicine and electronic health record system brings a new potential avenue for litigation and revenue stream for lawyers. With a new system, anything can go wrong, the system could fail or the stored data stolen. Improper uses of collected information are all potential avenues for a law suit.
Gradually, electronic health record system is gaining traction. More and more doctors are embracing it, and depending on the part of the country you are looking at, conversion could be as high as 40%. With government involvement and the amount of resources it is investing, the time will come when digital medical record keeping will be the norm.

Smart Fabrics and Wearable Electronics - The Future of Clothing
"Intelligent" or "smart" clothing is part of an exciting technology that involves building computing, connectivity, and sensing abilities into materials people are comfortable wearing. Some of the latest products in this area are very fashionable, lightweight, and look no different than other clothes. In some cases, the electronic circuits that make up the brains of the wearable computers and sensors are sewn in. In others, the circuits and other components are literally built from conductive yarn and thread that makes up the clothing. The possibilities are amazing and limitless.
Right now, as devices get smaller and smaller, we often find ourselves with a different electronic device in each pocket. Each technological advance shrinks these devices and integrates them with one another. It's only logical that as these portable devices that connect us, give us information, and allow us to be mobile get smaller and more powerful, we can eventually find ways to integrate right into the clothing we wear. Right now, technology has not progressed to that point, but this article will cover currently available forms of smart fabrics, or intelligent clothing.
There are actually three distinct types of smart clothing:
- Passive Smart: Where the clothing "reads" or senses the environment or something about the person wearing the clothing. Wearable sensors fall into this category, with examples including built-in GPS, clothing-integrated baby breathing monitors, and clothing that gives feedback about potential changes in weather.
- Active Smart: Where clothing not only senses the environment, but also reacts to it. Examples include: Clothing that changes density depending on the temperature outside, jackets that store solar energy that can be used to charge cell phones and cameras, and even built-in sensors that can guide pinpoint massage to a wearer that is regulated depending on his or her level of stress.
- Active very smart: Where clothing has built in computing and or intelligent sensing capacity. Examples include sleeves that function as keyboards for a small handheld device, clothing that can function like a powerful calculator or PDA, and shirts that can store information through a built-in fabric keyboard and send it via Bluetooth to a computer.
Other classifications of intelligent clothing include "phase change" and "shape memory" materials. Phase change materials literally change aspects such as their density in reaction to the environment, in order to increase comfort or functionality to the wearer. These clothes might become denser when it is cold and more porous when it is hot, for example. Shape memory materials can change from a temporary deformed shape back to an original shape. They can preserve a comfortable and loose fit regardless of changes in heat and moisture levels.
In the future, all of us might be wearing intelligent clothing that senses when we are having medical problems, gives us the ability to charge electronic devices while on the go, and even allows for basic computing. We might not need different clothing for different seasons due to phase change and shape memory technology. There might be means of communication and general connectivity built in to our clothes. This emerging technology is exciting and soon to take over the consumer market.

How to Find a Free Deep Cycle Battery
Maybe you are looking for a set of deep cycle batteries to replace your old ones. Maybe you want to find a free deep cycle battery to try desulfating it so it is near new and then try to sell it. Some people are even getting a large deep cycle battery and removing all the good cells so they can sell them for renewable energy systems.
A home renewable energy system using wind or solar needs anywhere from 12 volts to 48 volts. Each cell from a deep cycle battery is about 2 volts, so it takes 6 cells for every 12 volt section. If you were to buy these cells new, then they cost between 0 - 0 each. A small 12 volt 650 amp hour battery setup would cost about ,800 for the forklift battery cells. You could use golf cart batteries at about each and 220 amp hours each. It would take 6 of them to do it and it would cost about 0.
Here is the kicker, though. A deep cycle battery cell from a fork lift battery lasts about 4 times as long as a golf cart battery. You could refurbish the cells out of the forklift battery and sell them for 0 each. They would easily last twice as long (or more) as the golf cart batteries and you could make a handsome profit for doing it.
My first pair of forklift batteries that I got for free happened to be Yuasa batteries, but all kinds are available. What I discovered is that usually most cells in the battery are still pretty good. Usually it is one or two bad cells. Most places just have their batteries picked up for recycling when the battery doesn't make it though a 8 hour shift. These two batteries to the left had all good cells except 3 of them. There are 12 cells in each (these are 24 volt, 700 amphour), so that gives me 21 good cells.
So, if you're selling these cells, you can make up to ,100 profit. If you keep them for your own use (which is what I did), then you could make 3 banks of 12 volts at 600 amp hours each, or 12 volts at 1800 amp hours total. I say 600 amp hours instead of 700 because even after checking fluid levels and using my homemade desulfator, the amp hour capacity never gets up to brand new levels. But you can usually get 70% to 90% capacity, especially if you remove the bad cells. In the above example, you will use 18 of the cells total, leaving 3 good ones. You will probably have to just recycle those last 3 cells.
To get the batteries free, just call around to anyplace with a warehouse that uses forklifts. The first two in the picture above were picked up at the local post office main hub. You could just go through the yellow pages. Ask if they use electric forklifts, if so, do they plan on replacing their batteries in the near future. If you have a pickup truck, I would stick with the 12 or 24 volt ones. You can tell them that you can take them off their hands for free and that you will sign any environmental forms that they require.
There is another way to get forklift batteries but it costs a little money. Just look in the phone book and find the local forklift company. Almost all of them sell new batteries and deliver them as well. But they will also come and pickup old forklift batteries to recycle. They always have several sitting around. On Vancouver Island in Canada, the local company gets about 3 cents per pound from the local recycler. I can go to the forklift company and pick the best of the used ones and pay by the pound. A 24 volt like the one above weighs about 1,100 pounds or so. I can move those with a engine hoist and my V6 nissan pickup. Any bigger and you need other arrangements. They will also deliver the batteries to my home and plop them wherever I like. At 3 cents a pound, I could pay for the two batteries in the above picture. Then they would charge about per hour for the delivery. Let's say, worse case, it cost 2 hours in labor, that is 6 for both batteries. If I sell individual cells in 12 volt groups, then I could sell 18 of them (3 cells were bad) and make ,800. That gives me ,600 profit. Not bad.

Electronic Assembly Work at Home - How to Get Started
Jobs on Electronic Assembly Work at Home are actually not an innovation. In the recent years, among towns and cities where there are nearby companies engaged in electronic assembly work, these kinds of job have already been existent. What is interesting to note is that this form of livelihood has also recently been brought to the World Wide Web, and added to the roster of money making jobs online. Are you interested in getting electronic assembly assignments online? Read this and find out how to get started.
Electronic Assembly Work is very huge, but jobs that can be found online are usually focused on setting up circuit boards, computer parts, toys, fitness gadgets, and small printing equipments. These jobs exist the same way community livelihood jobs exist: instead of hiring additional employees and paying them with full time salaries and benefits, enterprises save money by allocating a segment of their production to people who want to work from home.
What is alarming about electronic assembly jobs online is that legitimate websites are blanketed by a dozen of malicious work from home scams. Their mode of operation is to ask applicants to pay 20 to 300 USD for the start-up tool kit that they will be using in assembly work. After this, they will send something for applicants to assemble, with the promise that applicants will be hired and entitled to high salary once the electronic assembly work done meets their standards. The thing is, no one ever meets their standards.
The difference between legitimate and malicious assembly companies lies on a single, thin thread: legitimate companies really respond and pay. This is perhaps one of the universal problems of work from home jobs, the security that employers will really provide compensation. In order to assess whether an assembly job is legal or not, it is very helpful to consult online employment forums that provides tips, clues, and discussions on best online career opportunities available on the Net.

Is There an Afterlife? 9 Astonishing Facts That Prove the Afterlife is Real (No Bull!)
Is there really an afterlife? Does life truly continue after my physical body is no more? And is there any scientific "proof" that we actually CAN (and do) survive our physical demise? In this article we tackle the tough terrain of the afterlife and see what many different sorts of REAL phenomena may have to say about where YOU are going when this life is over... and it's NOT necessarily what our religious teachers or textbooks tell us!
The Weight of The Evidence is Overwhelming That Life Goes On... and On...
Any individual story, anecdote or experience is really proof of nothing. But the overwhelming evidence for something, EVEN when science turns a blind eye, often is.
What do I mean? Well... when you look at the individual elements of facts that "support" an afterlife, it's often easy to dismiss and fantasy... or wishful thinking. But when you ADD all of them up, and look at them as a whole, they are amazingly evidential that something truly extraordinary happens at the moment of, (and after) physical death.
Some examples?
Near Death Experiences: (people who have extraordinary experiences while "clinically" dead, often with no vital signs or brain activity for many minutes)
Out of Body Experiences: (people who leave their bodies, and see things happening many miles away that are later validated - often called Astral Projection, which is usually thought of as the INTENTIONAL experience of learning to leave one's body, rather than it happening spontaneously)
Crisis Apparitions: People who appear to others in "spiritual" form at the moment of death, or severe trauma. Many of these cases have been reported in wars, or when someone is struck with an unexpected trauma like a sudden heart attack or car accident... and "appears" to others many miles away to say goodbye
Death Bed Visions: People who report seeing loved ones at their death beds, often "invisible" to others in the room (although... NOT always..:-) who have come to help them "transition" to the other side
After Death Communications: (or ADC's) Very simply, these are more commonly thought of as "ghosts" - when someone who is LONG dead appears after their demise to you in physical, or energetic "form" to communicate something. (often is important... and other times can be trivial and re-assuring)
Mystical Experiences: The personal process of having something extraordinary happen that leaves NO doubt in your mind that you are NOT your physical body alone. Very powerful, very personal, and very transformational. (many religious leaders, icons, prophets and other figures throughout human history have based their entire theology on the mystical experience - Moses seeing the "burning bush" in the Old Testament being a textbook example of it's power to change lives)
Reincarnation & Past Life Research: The compelling cases of people who remember past lives in incredible and fascinating detail, speak foreign languages they've never heard, play musical instruments they've never seen, and do all sort of other amazing things that science can NOT explain under currently accepted "laws" of how things work
Mediums and Psychics who Talk to the Dead: Yes, many are con's, charlatans and money making scams... but MANY mediums are genuine, authentic and do AMAZING things that simply cannot be explained by conventional means. They SAY they are talking to the dead... and some of the most amazing cases would suggest that the dead most CERTAINTY are talking back!
ITC and EVP: Basically, electronic voice phenomenon or communication from the other side that's "captured" using modern equipment like a basic voice recording from the "other side" or more sophisticated stuff like images and even phone calls from beyond. Don't laugh... they are MANY compelling cases of this sort of thing, and some of the GREATEST scientific minds studied this with vigor, zeal and a FIRM belief that something truly transcendent was happening. (including great scientific luminaries like Tesla, and Thomas Edison, who was working on a device to "talk" to the other side prior to his death)
The bottom line?
In total, the evidence ALL supports that life is a continuous affair... and your soul has a lot more to say after this life is over..:-) Is this GOOD news? I think so! And a good reason to live a life that you can be proud of, and focus on the sort of stuff that's TRULY forever. (the relationships you forge in this lifetime MAY last a lot longer than you believe..:-)

New Computer - Old Email, or How to Back up and Transfer Your Email
If you have a brand new computer, or are thinking about buying one in the near future, one of the things that you will need to consider is how to transfer your emails from the old system to the new system.
At least once a week in my job as a help desk analyst, I am helping a customer set up Outlook Express or Outlook (there are other email clients that are used, but these two are the most popular) on their new computer. Once we are finished with the setup and they open it up to the Inbox the question is asked "where are my old emails?" The simple answer; "on your old computer". Then of course the follow up question is; "how do I get them to the new computer?"
Easy or Hard
The easiest way to do this is to back them up to an external hard drive or a compact disc before you make the switch to the new computer and then copy them over to the new computer in the exact same directory. The harder way is in the case of a crashed computer or the inability to access the files normally. I cover a bit of that in another article called 'Got Backups?' which you can find at my website.
Outlook Express
With Outlook Express your emails/email folders are stored on your hard drive in a directory that is buried way down deep in the Operating System. Instead of me giving you the full path to get there, it's easiest if you have Outlook Express open, click on Tools then Options.
Copy/Paste
Once you are here, click on the Maintenance tab and then click on the Store Folder button. This will pop another window with the location of your emails. Using your mouse, highlight the path and then right click and copy it.
You will then click on the Start button, then click Run, and then right click in the Open box and Paste the path. Click Ok.
This will open another window with your email files. Unless you have added other folders to your Outlook Express, the default folders will be here with a .dbx extension (Folders, Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, and Drafts).
Backup
If you are going to write these files to a CD, you can burn them at this time by using your favorite burning software (providing that you have a CD burner installed in your computer).
To copy them to an external hard drive, you must now connect that device to your computer, create a folder on that drive (I usually call it Email Backups), copy the files from the old computer then paste the files into the Email Backups folder.
Import
Once you have the files copied to the CD or external drive, then you will go to the new installation of Outlook Express and import the messages. It would be nice if you could just copy them to the new OE and be done, but Microsoft doesn't like you to do it that way.
Open up OE and then click on File, Import, Messages. This will open a new window called Outlook Express Import. Choose Microsoft Outlook Express 6 then click Next. Click in the circle that says 'Import mail from an OE6 store directory'. Click OK. Then click 'Browse' and navigate to and select the directory you have saved them to. Click OK. The next window will give you a list of all of the email folders you have previously saved. Keep 'All folders' selected and click Next.
This will begin the process of importing all of your 'old' emails into your 'new' Outlook Express. Once it has finished you will have all of your old emails back! Cool, huh?
Outlook
The procedure to save and then import your emails in Outlook is similar, but different.
To start with, Outlook uses a file extension called pst, or Personal Folder File. Don't ask me why it's called that. Call Bill Gates and ask him.
Export
You will start on the old computer and with Outlook open, click on File, then 'Import and Export'. This opens the Import and Export Wizard. Choose 'Export to a file' then click Next. Choose 'Personal Folder File' here and then click Next. In the Export Personal Folders dialogue box you have your choice of what you want to do. The easiest is to keep the default choice of just the inbox, but if you want your sent items and all the other folders, choose the top item (Personal Folders) and then choose the 'Include subfolders' option and then click Next.
The next window will have a default location listed
(usually C:Documents and Settings'your computer name'Local SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftOutlookbackup.pst). I would suggest following the same procedure as for OE (see above). Then click 'Finish' and let it do it's thing.
Once you have your pst files backed up, move to the new computer and the import process will again be similar to OE.
Connect your external hard drive to your computer or insert the CD into the drive.
Import
Open Outlook, click on File, then Import and Export. In the Import and Export Wizard, this time choose 'Import from another program or file' then click Next. In the 'Import a File' window, scroll down and select Personal Folder File (.pst) and then click Next.
In the 'Import Personal Folders' window, click the Browse button and navigate out to the location of your backed up pst file, choose it and then click Next. Click 'Finish' and it will import all of your messages.

New Forms of Organized Crime
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) to indicate that nearly $ 1 trillion, from criminal activities, circulating daily in the financial markets.
The UN, moreover, suggests a world market for illicit drugs more than the entire oil industry, moving a year more than $ 400 billion dollars.
This high volume of financial resources generated by organized crime to be hidden, disguised and integrated into economic activity permitted.
It is possible to state that the mafias no longer a matter of police to become a financial and geopolitical issue of first magnitude A clandestine world buzzing, not subjected to any kind of law or democratic rules, employs hundreds of thousands of people.
The 'business' includes trade in drugs, weapons (possibly even nuclear), sophisticated technologies obtained through industrial espionage or secret purchase of slaves and white children, human organs used in transplants, transport, passports and visas for falsified entries for illegal immigrants, in addition to practice 'traditional' authorities and of bribery of politicians, extortion, exploitation of prostitution and child and adult control of cities or entire regions based on force and terror imposed by well-armed gangs and organized according to a paramilitary structure.
Another important factor to be considered is the transnational criminal organizations tripled the area of cultivation of coca in Colombia, due to new agricultural techniques despite fumigation under sponsorship of the America.
Organized crime looked further, to try coca plantations in Georgia, on the island of Samoa and the Democratic Republic of Congo (former Zaire). But, still, washing the dirty money in big on shore, as Miami and New York.
The model is increasingly sprayed, characterized by the limited knowledge among its members, the time when the operators of the crime held off business. Ability to articulate world, which drew of new world order of organized crime after the fall of "empire" Soviet in the early 1990: The international organized crime, an imaginary threat to many in 1990, was already a global emergency in 1993.
The major unions of the East and the West gather services and personnel as soon colonizing Western Europe and the United States, increasing drug trafficking in half trillion dollars per year by washing and reinvested in legal ventures an amount estimated at a quarter of a trillion of dollars annually.
Much of the phenomenal growth originated from the fact that they had free access to a territory that covers half the continent of Europe and much of Asia - one sixth of the land mass- Afloat and essentially defenseless.
According to the Italian police released in Sicily in 2001, a survey done by the Russian general Vitor Cheborachev confirms: "eighty percent of the banking system of Moscow is in the hands of the Mafia Russian.
It happened that dismantle the structures the state has disappeared completely and entered a different structure (the Russian mafia) to replace it. The movement of cartels and mafias in the world, however, does not yet constitute a sort of world federation of organized crime.
Since 1980, the Cosa Nostra became a wide structure.
A direct way of achieving the mafia globalization has been the practice to introduce, clandestine, illegal immigrants in the core countries of Europe and the USA. This was the procedure, for example the Chinese Triads and the Yakuza.
The Triads smuggled eight thousand illegal immigrants in Italy in just two years, almost half of all the Chinese community in the country. (...) The tens of thousands of Chinese illegally entering the "head-of-serpent" of the triad were not only more profitable that the heroin, but also a practical necessity. Hong Kong, a showcase of Triads in the world for over a century, revert to communist China in 1997.
The Triads could return to land from where it had fled after the communist - in fact many were returned - but she would never be their homeland. More discreet, and operating in the economic level, the Japanese Yakuza "was investing heavily in all states of the European Union. Authorities of the Japanese police confirmed that she washed money everywhere, in every kind of institution financial and industry, legal or illegal - just as the Sicilian Mafia, they combined a visit to Italy.
Mafia groups that had a tradition of activities limited to their own regions began to join, probably in the late 80s, to extend its influence to the most remote regions of the planet. Included in that table the old Italian and American mafia, the Japanese Yakuza, the Triads based in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, as well as the new Mafia groups in rapid expansion in West Africa and the newest Russian mafias (arising from the dismantling of the Soviet state).
These episodic business between mafias are indicating with certainty that these criminal organizations will be adjusting to the process of economic globalization, which main feature is the relatively free flow of capital with the support systems highly computerized.
In other words, the dimensions and forms of organization of crime in the contemporary world have nothing to do with what existed two or three decades. Compared with the current heads of the crime, Al Capone, for example, is a robber of backyard. It is estimated that Capone fortune of not more than $ 40 million, which is a lot of money, but nothing that is comparable to the billions currently moved by mafias.
While national states seek a solution through international strategic cooperation, which is more effective for the prevention, combating and prosecuting organized crime, through multilateral organizations like the UN, the criminal organizations by passing tax havens and new routes, leaving behind -- finally - the metaphor of the times of Al Capone: laundry, bakery corner of houses of gambling ... are things of the past.
Today, the narco-capital terms "fat" with the greatest naturalness in sessions, live and electronic, financial markets daily. After almost two decades of hegemony of the thesis of the minimum, the economic science is immersed in the search for new paths. The so-called "market fundamentalism" - that suggested the end of the story - already suggest "greater invention of the state in the lives of citizens, now emphasizing the need to combat the recession Keynesian-style, now to invest in national security.
The impasse that wins new contours in the 21st century is placed in the following way by where to draw the line between pure private sector activities and those that require public involvement through ownership or regulation is a question.
How to manage services of those holding public or private regulatory involving social externalities is another. There is little doubt that we cannot answer them. The lesson may well have been that some externalities are too big to be faced by the private sector and always require government funding through collection of taxes to provide services and infrastructure required.
The attempts to blockade the capital attributed to Al Qaeda terrorist network of Osama bin Laden, were empty. Indeed, the determination of the United States and Britain of blocking accounts of 27 entities suspected not reached the targets concerned. In Britain, where the freeze hit $ 88 million - with $ 6 million in the U.S. and another $ 6 million in other countries - this figure is a trace compared to U.S. $ 5.9 billion that moved through the bureau de change, since the time of Thatcher freely operating funds of criminal origin.
Following the logic of time zones, there are dozens of so-called "tax havens" that make up the main area of organized crime. A huge - and intense - laundry global, operating in real time and mounted on a technological device that works on the logic of masking and clear, digitally, all tracks - just a simple click and the money "dirty" becomes the "productive capital."
Clearly, tax havens connect and artificial satellites, around the three major financial centers worldwide: United States, European Union and Japan that is, the link with the Cosa Nostra mafia-type American, Italian, Russian, Chinese Triads and Yakuza is direct and immediate. The figures on the amount of resources from organized crime are disagreements, but "the Newsweek magazine estimates that the capital accumulated for each year by all the mafias of the world, is $ 3 trillion. Also in the field of the estimates, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimates that the world business of money laundering movement NTA between $ 500 billion and $ 1.5 trillion dollars per year - an amount equal to 5% of production world, more than one quarter of international trade to GDP or the UK.
Of course, this figure includes drug trafficking, other forms of organized crime, political corruption and tax evasion. There are the kinds of nonsense: "Alone, the Jersey Island focused applications with a total value of $ 600 billion.
The World Wide Web (Internet), so-called internal networks of organizations (Intranets) and others like the world is also composed to support the transactions of organized crime. the world's largest network is the washing SWIFT: In 1973, the 250 largest financial institutions in Europe and the United States created a cooperative with the name of Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications. Or just Swift.
The network covers the whole territory of the United States, Japan and Western Europe, and Latin America, including Brazil. Just order a Swift and a password to leave the money in an area offshore (Bahamas, for example) and between banks in Vienna, Frankfurt and Miami.
The SWIFT network has two features that much like criminal organizations: a) the possibility of multiple operations and in short space of time - facilitating the life of a current interest in clean money, b) the fact that the network is not monitored.
In other words, no and no monitoring system, intelligent, is able to detect suspicious transactions.
The technology worked out nicely for the interests of international organized crime. The Swift does not obey borders. It is the network that traffickers and terrorists move much of his fortune today. It is there that sell the product of political corruption.
In the late 1990s, during the meetings of the UN summit on organized crime, held in Naples (1994), Cairo (1995) and Vienna (March 2003), reports on the laundering of money exchanged by the representatives police from dozens of countries represented point to new strategies for the "purification of dirty money" adopted by the mafias and cartels, worldwide. In the new geopolitics of organized crime, the markets are on shore in new webs of washing international scheme.
The criminal organizations are adjusted to the process of economic globalization, which implies a relatively free flow of capital through systems. In other words, the dimensions and forms of organization of crime in the contemporary world have nothing to do with what existed two or three decades.
In the Middle East, terrorists and criminals still use the system known as Hawala, primitive, which is possible to transfer resources without the need to identify the owner and the destination. The confirmations of transfer are made by fax (the page is destroyed after this OK. Schemes would be well used by bin Laden and the followers of Alspalan Tuerkes, one of the leaders of the Turkish mafia, which controls the trafficking of heroin and weapons in Eastern Europe.

Electronic Cigarette - The Next Quit Smoking Device
Ever since the public became aware about the dangers of smoking a few decades ago, many people have found quitting the tobacco habit hard. Companies have been innovating and manufacturing smoking cessation products for many years now. From nicotine patches to gum, nicotine addicts have been using them to quit their habit.
Electronic cigarettes (also known as e-cigarettes and electric cigarettes)are the newest product on the market. They are designed to look and feel like real cigarettes, even down to emitting artificial smoke however they do not actually contain any tobacco. Users inhale nicotine vapour which looks like smoke without any of the carcinogens found in tobacco smoke which are harmful to the smoker and others around him.
The Electronic cigarette consists of a nicotine cartridge containing liquid nicotine. When a user inhales, a tiny battery powered atomizer turns a small amount of liquid nicotine into vapour. Inhaling nicotine vapour gives the user a nicotine hit in seconds rather than minutes with patches or gum. When the user inhales, a small LED light at the tip of the electronic cigarette glows orange to simulate a real cigarette.
The nicotine cartridges themselves come in various strengths. Most of the major brands, such as the Gamucci electronic cigarette have full strength, half strength and minimal strength. This is designed for people who want to quit smoking. As they get used to using the electronic cigarette, they can gradually reduce the strength they use until they quit.
The main advantages electronic cigarettes have over nicotine patches or gum is firstly, users have the nicotine hit much quicker and secondly, because a big reason why smokers fail to quit suing patches and gum is because they still miss the act of inhaling smoke from a cylindrical object. The electronic cigarette emulates that even down to the smoke.
The electronic cigarette is also beneficial from a financial perspective. A set of five nicotine cartridges costs around £8 and is equivalent to 500 cigarettes. Although the initial investment of an electronic cigarette kit of £50 may seem steep at first, users save money in the long run.
As with many popular products, there have been a great number of cheap Chinese imitations flooding the market. They are usually half the price of a branded electronic cigarette and look like the real thing as well. It is inadvisable to use these because they have not been subject to the same rigorous testing the official electronic cigarettes have and can potentially be highly damaging to the user's health.
As electronic cigarettes become more and more popular, they are increasingly used to smoke in pubs and clubs with a smoking ban. Electronic cigarettes seem to be the next thing and may soon replace real cigarettes in clubs.
